EUCHNER has developed two innovative modules for its market-proven MGB2 Modular multi-functional door control system.
The newly launched compact MCM extension module supports integration of up to 6 control components, effectively addressing customized control requirements. Furthermore, the innovative MSM sub-module enables connection with conventional electromechanical safety switches, providing seamless integration into PROFINET/PROFISAFE networks.
MCM: Compact in Size, Scalable, and Powerful in Functionality
For customers requiring more than six control functions in the MGB2 Modular safety door system, EUCHNER now provides the perfect solution. The new compact MCM extension module features two slots, allowing installation of up to six control components such as emergency stop buttons with authorization switches or key-operated switches. This offers customers greater flexibility - they can choose either this space-saving extension module or the previous four-slot version supporting up to twelve control elements, depending on their specific needs.
The MCM module offers several key advantages: Its submodules with functional components can be easily hot-swapped into the extension module, requiring only simple configuration before use. When necessary, submodules can be quickly replaced. The MCM provides more flexibility in functionality and application. It can be installed separately from the MGB locking module and bus module - for example, installing the MCM and MGB inside the production area while placing the bus module outside. The MCM can also be used in combination with non-locking modules or bus modules with door handles.
MSM Submodule: Plug-and-Play Decentralized Peripheral
The MCM expansion module can be combined with the new MSM sub-module to serve as a decentralized peripheral device, which can be directly connected to the electromechanical safety switches with M12 round connectors. The fail-safe inputs can record the signal states of the safety switches, such as pull-cord switches, emergency stop buttons, and limit switches, and can transmit the safety signals to the control system via the PROFISAFE protocol over PROFINET. The MSM sub-module has three dual-channel digital inputs, and when using the small MCM expansion module, up to six slots can be used for safety inputs. The MSM is also suitable for both M12 plug-in connectors and M12 threaded connectors. In addition, the system supports hot swapping during operation and only requires simple configuration before it is ready for use.
The MGB2 Modular adopts a modular system design, offering users greater flexibility. To this end, expansion modules and sub-modules can be easily extended, and functions can be effortlessly expanded and modified. This means that users can benefit from a customizable and sufficiently flexible system that can meet any potential future needs.
